Reblog from a dear sisters blog…Such excellent truth! God’s word is clear, it never changes, HE never changes, and if you are His you shall not ignore one single word of what He says, and shall actually live it as well. Difficult or not, and it is most difficult, and can only be accomplished through His empowering through His Holy Spirit. Your life must Christ before your flesh. The word of God above your ideas, opinions, desires. Anything else shows the tragedy of your stillbirth. ~AGM†
I have been observing a severe shift among many professing Christians lately that is rather disturbing. The Word of God, the very source of our knowledge for living, denied and ignored amongst the very people who claim to follow Jesus. Many are so heavily swayed by society or their own desires that they now “call evil good and good evil”, in which God proclaims a “woe to those” in Isaiah 5:20. In doing this, much harm comes to those seeking the Truth and it also causes injury to the Body of Christ. Why would any one do this? While there are many reasons I can’t help but think back to the Garden of Eden. Those sly and clever words “did God actually say….?”. How many times will we fall for that lie? Just look at the passage that describes the Fall closely:
Genesis 3:1-5 “Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
This is what we now hear daily. Even in our own lifes we must fight that same accusation against God. “Did God really say….”. Pay attention and you will see it evident everywhere. “Did God really say there is a hell?”. Yes. Yet people don’t want to believe in hell because it makes them uncomfortable. “Did God really say marriage is between one man and one woman?” Yes. Yet many don’t want to stand for Biblical marriage because people may not like them. “Did God really say obey Him?” Yes. Yet people don’t want to believe ALL of what God says because then they may have to confront their own sin. The reality is that God did say a lot, and He meant every Word of it. We need to stop challenging God’s standard of right and wrong. He is God, we are not. He is perfect and we are not. Are you a Christian? Then don’t elevate your thoughts above your Creator. You are called to follow Him, not society, not your feelings. We serve a perfect and holy God, trust Him. SDG!
