Antinomianism often boasts in its being overcome by sin, while proudly announcing that it is not overcome by legalism. Antinomianism equally identifies holiness as legalism, and is lucrative in its guilt management of false converts without mentioning the necessity of true repentance that causes the sinner to flee from sin unto Christ and to pursue holiness in His power (Heb. 12:14). Antinomianism fails to remember that the same power which raised Jesus Christ from the dead is inherent in the life of every believer. Either the residing, resurrecting power of God that raised Jesus from the dead is inherent in the life of the Christian, or it is inadequate (may it never be!) or such a person who remains enslaved to sin is not a Christian.~Doron Gladden

“Sin must always be acknowledged for what it is. No sugar coated confession will suffice for true repentance.”~Steve Lawson

true and false christians

Repent. For real. Or perish. Or perhaps your seared conscience is beyond all hope….what does your real life demonstrate? And the things you do in “secret”? Do you lie in the name of Christ? Do you sneak? Do you convince yourself that you have a “right” to? Do you have self control? Do you love your brother or do you hate him, as shown in the scriptures, by lying to him? Do you manipulate those in your life for your own advantage and to escape the consequences of your sin? Do you do these things while presenting yourself as a Christian to those who are in Christ and to a lost world, while you continue to live exactly like that lost world lives, doing the same untoward and ungodly things? Where exactly is Christ in that?? The biblical Christ. The real Christ. Where is He in all of that?? Looking the other way? Boys will be boys? For the sin that crucified Him while daily you crucify Him afresh??

Repent.

3We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God[a] is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning. This old command is the message you have heard. Yet I am writing you a new command;its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister[b] is still in the darkness. 10 Anyone who loves their brother and sister[c] lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. 11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them….I John 2:3-11
