Sometimes God requires us to expose the very thing we are ashamed of so that he may heal us. It’s easier to hide it. It’s easier to look normal. But Christ thinks it’s crucial. He is Lord of the Sabbath (Luke 6:5). Stand up. Get next to Jesus. Stretch forth your hand. Expose yourself and he will heal you. You should be careful about coming to God trying to look as normal as possible. Christians are good at this. Concealing pain, concealing heartache, and concealing hurt. None of this allows him to properly work to heal you. Though your God is all-seeing and all-knowing, it takes effort on your part to expose your pains and heartaches to him. If you’re willing to stretch yourself, he will take everything that’s broken and make it whole again. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12).

What profit is it to a man if he gain the whole world and lose his soul??
