“A shepherd protects the sheep by laying in front of the entrance of the sheep pen so no enemy can get by without him knowing. But today the shepherds of the church have made the entrance so wide that the wolves just walk right by the shepherds who are saying God bless you and welcome to the wolves. Elders are to watch over their flocks (Acts 20:28-35), not put them in harm’s way.”~Mike Oppenheimer
Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.” Titus 1:9
It is a command as well as a calling:
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24
You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stayed not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears….. II Timothy 4:3-4
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. II Corinthians 11:13-15
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. I john 4:1
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. James 3:1
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. II Peter 2:1
Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Ephesians 5:11
Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. I John 2:18-19
And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake the dust off from your feet when you leave that house or town. Matthew 10:14
Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain people have crept in unnoticed who were long ago designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jude 1:3-4
.…exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 1:3
We are ordered to “Contend”! We are told to warn the brethren. To that end, for any who subscribe to this blog who are in my area (you know who you are), I am going to name names and call out those who make a mockery of Christ and the word of God…false teachers, false prophets….heretical wolves who are invading the sheep pen. The genuine brethren have to be warned who to stay away from.
If you sit under any of these men, loving their false teaching, then that is another subject altogether….and to that end I am posting the Gospel that saves so that you may believe and actually BE saved, for no one with the Holy Spirit can sit under false teaching for very long, and it would behoove you to take a long and hard look at the genuineness of your salvation.
That said, I am returning to the issue at hand….
The people I am naming are, as follows: Bill Ketts, Dan Whitmarsh, Butch Hall, and Heinz Malon.
To start, there is Bill Ketts. He claims to come from Calvary Chapel in CA, alluding to being some kind of ‘pastor; there or in some kind of ministry, although no one there remembers him (he has been researched). He now has his little home “church” in our area. Bill gives “revelations” from “the Lord” that do nothing but serve the “revelator” and draw attention to him. (“Is that You, God? God and me are playing a little game this morning. What’s that God? *laughs* God’s kidding around with me“) NO, I’m serious, he does things like that and worse! For example, (” The Lord just told me that someone here has a song for tonight…..”) and then proceeds to tell a woman who three weeks earlier had confessed that she had realized that music was an idol in her life, and was horrified at that truth, and so she had given it up and forsook it for our Lord… tells her that it is she that has a song from the Lord for everyone. Only she could not play guitar as her hands were painful nor could she think of any song to sing…. (I would think “the Lord” would know that and would not tempt her with an idol she had given up…..oh wait…that wasn’t HIM. Never mind.) Bill’s cover was that she was meant to sing it at another time. (A bit like Kreskin…”does your name star with ‘A’…wait, ‘V’? No, it’s ‘D’…..). The truth is that all genuine prophecy leads directly back to God, is ACCURATE, and only glorifies God while staying within the context and confines of Scripture….unless it is false, which all of Bill’s is. Unless his “prophecy” happens after someone has made a definitive statement or shared some news. But then, that’s not a “revelation” from the Lord, is it? No, that’s a shell game. Also a problem…on his website, he had a page where he recommends authors, books, etc. The list was mainly Catholic Mystics, Nuns, Jesuits ( Mertonhttp://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/merton.htm , Nouwen http://apprising.org/2012/05/30/chuck-swindoll-points-us-to-roman-catholic-mystic-henri-nouwen-again/, Brother Lawrence http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/brotherlawrence.htm, etc). When confronted regarding his ‘recommends” links on his website to Catholic mystics, he refused to “understand”, claimed that anyone who speaks of Jesus is a brother. Ah, but the same Jesus the Bible speaks of? There’s the rub. Mormons RCC, JW’s for example, speak of “Jesus”…well you know…and so he claimed these Catholic Mystics were alright because they refer to Jesus. If you are not familiar with the problem of Catholic Mysticism, please research. A good link with solid information is:http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/index.html But then, sometime after we left (for good), he hid the link deeper by taking down his “Pastor recommends” page and putting a link to them in another spot. It’s a bad situation all the way around. Please heed the strong warning here. He comes across as very boyish and charming, and hyper sensitive, but he is a ravenous wolf and quite manipulative. Best to just stay clear, brethren. I beg of you!
We also have a local “Pastor” who teaches universalism (Islam and Christianity have the same “God”), who’s wife practices Reiki and takes “her” girls from the “church” out into the streets to hand out sandwiches as a “mission” (No, dear, a mission is what one does when one is spreading the Gospel, not spreading peanut butter for the lost and sending them perishingly on their way….just sayin) , and who (foundationally) teaches neo-gnosticism, ( “One could argue that if we, as a society, would learn to recognize the value in all the little things, this world would be a much healthier place. That salvation is not to be found first and foremost in national policy or regulation……but instead in learning the hidden ways of the world right outside our door. In growing appreciation for all the goodness that exists around us“) …his name is Dan Whitmarsh. Problem Dan…God says that salvation is found only through Jesus Christ, and that the “goodness of the world” is a fallen world that is in the sway of Satan. And “Allah” is a moon god, not GOD. So no, they are NOT the same, nor equal. One is false and the other is the only true GOD. (And BTW, Bill Ketts guest preaches at Whitmarsh’s “church”, dragging his little flock there with him, thereby giving silent but definite approval to what the neo-gnostic/universalist/pagan “pastor” teaches and demonstrating by his preaching there that this “church” is okay.)
There is a Baptist “Pastor” who, for example, used “The Shack” http://worththewaitblog.wordpress.com/2008/09/06/thirteen-heresies-in-the-shack-by-dr-michael-youssef/ from the pulpit to explain what it means to be “beloved” and who (when confronted) said he only read the book for “entertainment” (blatant heresy is now entertaining to “Pastor’s”???) and denied that in using it he was actually promoting it from the pulpit, who balks at having to drive from home to actually “pastor” (he leaves that to his second in charge), and in who’s congregation sit those who falsely believe that since they are in “church”, they are saved, but are not according to how they live and what they do (and the “pastor” doesn’t seem to either notice, or he condones it, or he just doesn’t give a rip. Pray that God opens their eyes, please! The days are short, and time is running out) This “church” IS big on halloween though (all “ghoulie” and everything….oh what fun, right? They participate in a community Halloween event every year, although I have yet to see it used as an opportunity for the Gospel…sadly), and teach “the art of silence” to the kids during AWANA while no one disciples, guards the sheep that do exist there, or call that nonsense what it is…Catholic mysticism (again). There is not a lot of opportunity taken for evangelism, mostly due to an absent “pastor” who visibly squirms at the subject. Speaking of which, when given solid tracts for their “evangelism” booth at an event, they hid them a bit and got all awkward and then left the event early because there were people drinking. (Which His tracts would come in handy for, I would think….heck they’re just sitting around, go to them!) his name is Butch Hall. In his real life, he is also a (ecumenical) chaplain.
Which brings me to a Lutheran “Pastor” who is nothing more than a Humanist, his real job being that of a psychologist, who’s parishoners have NO idea of what the Gospel is and seem to think that it is handing out food and saying things like “God loves you” or “God bless you”….devotees of a social ‘gospel’ in what is nothing more than a social club…his name is Heinz Malon, and he only says the name of Jesus when hard pressed to by those of us who back him into a corner publically (yes, it was me), and likes to think the world will somehow automatically be redeemed because “God looked at what He had made and called it ‘good’“. (Okay, well ya didn’t quite make it out of Genesis there, buddy). Jesus cannot be found within those walls, as even the “pastor” refuses to use His name….and salvation comes by what other way?? BTW, their “mission statement” is: “To the glory of God and empowered by His love and grace, we commit ourselves to spiritual growth and offer our resources to our neighbors”. UGH. There’s a spirit there for sure, but it is the spirit of the antichrist.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:15
You will know them by their fruits.
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies …” 2 Pet. 2:1
This is the third time I am coming to you. Every charge must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them……II Co 13:1-2
And I’m sure y’all are wondering….yes, all the above named have been soundly confronted, and their actions confirmed by at least two witnesses, and these men have rejected the Truth and the admonition. Now the brethren have to be warned if I am to follow Scripture (which I have to follow, regardless of whether I would prefer not to or not….it is so much easier not to, but I have to look my Lord in the eye…) so that they may avoid these men or if involved with them, may extricate themselves from these ear tickling goatherders and seek solid, biblical teaching and discipleship and not be led so far astray that they may never find Christ’s narrow path again, if indeed they ever found it in the first place. The longer one embraces liars, the longer the person ignores the truth, the more one falls for anything, and may fall too far into apostasy to find, or even want, a way out. And for those who, like so many of us, are looking for somewhere solid to fellowship and grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, you must know the pitfalls to avoid. I pray that you will, just as I pray that the Lord comes soon. Even so, come Lord Jesus, come!
The sacrifice on our behalf for the saving of our souls should never be taken so lightly as to compromise and accommodate those who deny by their words and actions the veracity of the word of God and the reality of what the grace of God is! What do light and darkness have in common? Or Christ and Belial?
There are many more apostate “pastors” in this neck of the woods (and gratefully, I have been warned of them. To those who did the warning…THANK YOU!)….and I’m sure there are in your neck of the woods as well….so warn the brethren, warn the perishing and those whose ears are raw from being tickled, and never, ever compromise what we are plainly told to do in Scripture. I just did it. Now, it’s your turn. 😉
